The Office of the Vice President for Diversity approaches equity and inclusivity work at Colorado State University with an advocacy framework. When looking through an advocacy lens, organizational change and meaningful work culture progress can only be achieved through a holistic approach, focusing on individual, group, and systemic levels.

Current Priorities

Keeping our advocacy lens at the forefront, the following initiatives are key priorities for the Vice President for Diversity office in 2020:

President’s Commission on Diversity & Inclusion

The President’s Commission on Diversity and Inclusion at Colorado State University serves as the institutional conscience for inclusive policies, programs, procedures, and services. The Commission is a catalyst for change that enhances the campus climate for all people and removes persistent barriers that inhibit the success of members of our campus community, especially those from underrepresented and historically marginalized populations.

Inclusive Physical and Virtual Campus 

Colorado State University is commitmented to creating and sustaining a welcoming, accessible and inclusive campus that enhances usability for everyone and helps create an environment in which we support, protect and respect rich dimensions of diversity. In meeting these goals, the committee helps assure that all individuals can fully access and enjoy the benefits of our facilities, educational opportunities, and information.

2018 Campus Climate Survey

It is the continuing goal of the Office of the Vice President for Diversity’s to further promote and develop an inclusive campus climate designed to welcome, encourage, and embrace differences so all community members are recognized, valued, and affirmed.  The Vice President for Diversity’s Office conducts an Employee Climate Survey every two years.
