Bias Reporting

The Multicultural Staff and Faculty Council invites you to attend a presentation by
Associate Vice President for Inclusive Excellence Dr. Shannon Archibeque-Engle on
CSU’s Bias Assessment Team and Reporting System

Monday, February 26, 2024

12 – 1 PM

Via Zoom

The Bias Reporting System was launched in 2017.  The Bias Assessment Team reviews each submitted report and provides education, support, and referrals to CSU community members impacted by bias. In this session, participants will learn about CSU’s Bias Assessment Team, its mission, the Bias Reporting System, and what happens after an incident of bias has been reported. Participants in this session will learn the definition of a bias incident, the difference between an incident of bias and a hate crime, and how we can all help to create a more inclusive and thoughtful community.

Rascoe will be in conversation with Erin O’Toole, KUNC reporter will discuss the threat to democracy around the world. Globally over the past few decades, there has been an increase in the number of countries electing autocratic leaders. Freedom of the press and civil liberties are being eroded in many places around the world, including some that were once bastions of democracy. Fear, outrage, and misinformation are often taking the place of reasoned debate. Where does this leave us and what will be the future of democracy?
