Overview

The Office of the Vice President for Diversity (VPD) strives to foster an inclusive environment that promotes and nurtures diversity, broadly defined, at Colorado State University. Our goal is to promote an environment where faculty, staff, and students, are welcomed, valued, and  affirmed. We achieve this by strategically focusing on three areas:

  1. recruitment and retention of faculty, staff, and students from historically excluded groups;
  2. promoting a welcoming and inclusive campus climate; and
  3. engaging in educational outreach and community building.

Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of Colorado State University’s land-grant mission to provide access and opportunity to individuals from all segments of society. The VPD provides a variety of services and supports many programs designed to carry out this mission. The VPD is committed to the belief that a place of higher learning must welcome, encourage, and embrace differences so all community members are recognized, affirmed, and valued.

Mission

Colorado State University will continue to shape and maintain a campus climate designed to welcome, encourage, and embrace differences so all community members are welcomed, valued, and affirmed.
