April 14: Mindfulness Training for Queer & Trans Students

Sponsored by the Pride Resource Center, Come join a series of four workshops led by a QTPOC mindfulness instructor (Atlas Tan, they/them/theirs). We will explore different tools to work with our internal experiences (including intense emotions), talk about what it means to be on a path of active healing, and be in a community that centers a contemplative life as a way to make sense and thrive in this oppressive world. It is recommended, but not required, that participants attend every workshop, as each of them provide the tools we need for the next one.

You MUST RSVP here for each session with a CSU email up to one hour before each session (We recognize that some CSU emails contain dead names, we are asking for a CSU email to maintain safety and monitor access to each session. We recognize this is not ideal, only Pride Resource Center staff will have access to emails.) The day of each session we will email you a ZOOM link to join either over video or via phone. You must download ZOOM, it is available for free.

Workshop 3: Being with tension, cultivating insight, maintaining a regular practice
April 14, 2020
6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Just like how we need to exercise to maintain our wellbeing, we also need to regularly practice mindfulness to keep a mind that is clear and aware. We will try out ways to learn into the discomfort our experiences, and learnt how tension can breed insight. If we can use every experience as material for practice, we can be unstoppable.

If you have any questions please email Maggie Hendrickson ( Maggie.Hendrickson@colostate.edu)
