Fort Collins group Showing Up for Racial Justice is hosting an interactive professional development/educational opportunity focused on racism and white allyship.

This event is free, although donations will be accepted benefiting the Anti-Racism Movement Fort Collins.

Deepening Our Capacity as White Change Agents: Exploring Internalized Dominance
Sunday, June 4th, 6:00 – 8:00 PM
The Artery, 254 Linden Street, Fort Collins

Dr. Kathy O’Bear will lead the workshop in an exploration of what it means to be a white change agent working for racial justice in the US . We will learn how we can be better partners with people of color as we work to dismantle racism in organizations and in society. Specifically, we will identify and discuss the common racist behaviors and attitudes of white allies that disrupt our ability to create meaningful change.

Dr. O’Bear is an organizational development consultant and trainer specializing in creating inclusion, team and organizational effectiveness, conflict resolution, and change management. For over 30 years, she has given speeches, facilitated training sessions, and consulted to top leaders at hundreds of universities, human service and K-12 organizations, and corporations across the United States and internationally about how to create inclusive, socially just environments.  She is the author of the recently published book “…But I’m Not Racist! Tools for Well-Meaning Whites.”
