October 25: WeCare Breakfast for Change

The WeCare Breakfast for Change is a free community breakfast open to all who would like to register to support Crossroads Safehouse’s mission to stop domestic violence and provide a continuum of services to victims of intimate partner abuse and their children.

WE come together to show the community that we are united to end domestic violence in Larimer County.

Each year the prevalence of domestic abuse in Larimer County increases. We see it in the newspapers, on the television and online, and the cycle of abuse needs to stop with us. Our children deserve a future without the threat of abuse and violence from their intimate partners.

STAND WITH US!

Our featured speakers on October 25 are two women who have suffered greatly because of domestic violence that has happened to them or their family members.

SARA MONDRAGON
Sara Mondragon became an activist against domestic violence after a brutal attack by her boyfriend in February of 2016. Not only did the violence and extensive injuries she experienced that night changed her life forever, her grandmother, Kathy Mondragon, was murdered during the attack. Sara never intended to be a voice for change in the movement to end intimate partner abuse, but because of her experience, she is committed to ending the cycle, starting with her own daughter.

ANN MARIE DOOLITTLE
Ann Marie started her journey to educate families about domestic violence when her daughter, Ashley Doolittle, was murdered by her boyfriend after their relationship ended. After Ashley’s death in June of 2016, Ann Marie committed her time and efforts to establishing the Ashley Doolittle Foundation. The Foundation, and Ann Marie, are dedicated to preserve Ashley’s legacy by building awareness of and preventing teenage dating and break-up violence, while honoring Ashley’s love of western heritage.
